Hello everyone and welcome to July, finally here in England, it seems this summer has finally begun.
Sun, flowers, sun and more sun. Everywhere looks nice and people just want to have some fun. Gone are the dreary winter frowns (I love winter by the way) and the wetness of spring. Bloom finally some sun and flowers.
Did you know how hard flowers had to work to be here? You see, the hard work bit for a flower is the part where it decays and disintegrates in the soil, it has to break free of itself and be mixed with soil, manure, water etc. in a bid to get rooted that is get secured. And when it does, it breaks free from the soil (hindrances) and begins to shoot up at this point all the leaves does is get sunlight and nutrients from its roots and bloom the flower emerges.
Before the bloom everyone including the flower seed must have felt why does this process seem so long and hard? But when it blooms all the pain is worth it.
Now this period is the time for one popular question – “It is halfway into 2019, what have you done”?
Fair enough question, I tell you. It still feels like yesterday when we were all screaming happy new year and texting family and lovers (and ex-lovers lol). Seriously, I blinked and we are half way through 2019 wow, where did the time go?
You need to see my 2019 goal setting document, if I went by that list I should be pregnant by now and that means I should have gotten married in say April or May and that means I should have been in serious relationship in February (I made the list in January so that’s out). Shoulda, coulda, woulda blab la bla…
I honestly felt sad for about 10 seconds. As soon as I began to settle down into my pity party, my phone rang and it was a client calling to book one of our services. Thank God for God, I quickly switched into my best customer voice and for the 10 minutes It took me to finish the booking I had forgotten why I wanted to be sad in the first place.
You see, in the same time one of my goal’s had not happened “yet” other stuff had happened. Business was booming, skin was glowing, other goals were being accomplished but I almost wallowed in self-pity because of one of the many other goals.
It is easy to stay fixated on what you do not have instead of focusing on what you now have. Seeing others accomplish stuff would make you question yourself I know. Yes, the year is halfway gone, and yes the list still looks long but guess what YOU the most important part of that list is still here.
By all means review, take stock of the past six months but move forward.
If you have managed to tick some or all the goals on your list, I applaud you and say a big well done. If you still have many unticked boxes like me: I applaud you and say move on.
The Bible says Eccle 9:4 “For whoever is joined with all the living, there is hope; surely a living dog is better than a dead lion.”
Every day, week and month is an opportunity to start afresh, each day presents us with another opportunity to re start. Whilst it is not okay to keep postponing your goals, you must ensure that you are making progress no matter how minute.
Don’t allow other peoples movement to weigh you down, do not allow what is yet to happen to pressure you into making mistakes. Ensure that you are ticking your personal boxes. You are not in competition with anyone.
I was going write about how you should tighten your seat belt and run your best so you make it to the end of the year with a fully ticked list. Well, I do not have the marking scheme for your life only God does and if He has kept you alive till now it must be for a reason. Do you boo…
Take this new month as a new opportunity to bloom, assume the past 6 months to be a period of planting and taking root. You see the Bible speaks about the 7th month as a season of release and rest
Release according to Deuteronomy 15:1-2 says “At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release…” (Taking root, the process of decay and disintegration. The seed beaten by rain, manure, insects so as to release the roots)
Rest according to Leviticus 23:23 says “God said to Moses, tell the people of Israel, on the first day of the seventh month, set aside a day of rest….” (seed has broken free and is now set to bloom)
This is another opportunity to take every pain, every hurt, every disappointment and every shame and turn them all into a beautiful testimony. Like the flower baby girl bloom, you’ve done the grafting the past 6 months, you’ve tried and failed and fallen but good news you are still here. You have broken free of soil, your root is receiving nutrients and your leaves sunlight my dear it is time to BLOOM.
Release and Rest… This is your season. You still have time to Bloom….
See some of my bloom pictures below. Call me flower girl..

I love you and I am rooting for you.
Love and Light
