I do not remember the first time I said the prayer of salvation but I know I said it too many times I couldn’t keep count. I said it when others did, I said it because I was asked too, I said it because I was scared of the storms or I was on board a flight (please do not ask me why, the gist is for another day lol).
Until 12th of May 2013, a day I would never forget all my life. The day I got saved properly. I would love to go into the details of what led up to that day but..
Know this my life turned around 360 degrees and I am yet to recover from that encounter with light. Every testimony from then on can be traceable to the 12th of May 2013; the day I said I do to the most loving, most kind, most gentle, most powerful King ever.
Listen! I do want to patronise you or be sentimental so I would say this “JUST TRY JESUS” I bet my life you would not regret it. The beginning of any change you desire starts with JESUS.
A very simple prayer and you are in but before you do read these two scriptures
Romans 8: 1-2 (amp) Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Saviour]. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set you free from the law of sin and of death.
Romans 10:9 (amp) …because if you acknowledge and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord [recognizing His power, authority, and majesty as God], and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Three things to remember:
- You must believe in your heart and you must speak with your mouth.
- No matter how much you think you’ve messed up or made mistakes. Salvation erases your past and gives you a fresh new start. Literally born again.
- You may have said this prayer before but you know that something is still not right, well here is an opportunity to get it right this time like I did.
Close your eyes, and sincerely pray this prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I open the door of my heart to you today, forgive me all my sins, wash me with your blood. I believe you died for me and on the third day you rose again that I may be justified. Right now, I believe my sins are now forgiven, I am justified by your blood, I am saved, I am restored back to the faith, I am now a child of God. Thank you, Jesus, for saving my soul amen”
