Happy new year best friends I know it looks like I’m late to the party, lol it’s the 2nd month and I’m just saying happy new year.
As usual January was a haze. So many stuff going on at once and that’s not for lack of planning.

Actually let me start again, over the years I have noticed that in-spite of my new year goals, planning and awesome intentions January always happens in a haze.
So this year I planned haze for January, that is I allowed myself time to settle in, tried out a couple of new year resolutions, space to flunk them and reset hence February is new year for me.
What I am saying is take it easy on yourself, no one is competing with who gets what first or who completes what first. In other news YOU are your only competition so chill.
Imagination is everything
Now one of my major goals for the year 2020 is to “IMAGINE”. Yes you read that right I plan to broaden my mind and expand my thinking horizon.
I want to be able to think anything and imagine everything. Nothing would be off limits for me this 2020.
As strange as that sounds, I promise you a lot of people are scared to dream. For a long time and even now I still struggle with allowing my mind to go certain places. I am too cautious, always poking holes, trying to read meanings, yes generally been pessimistic.
I just don’t want to accept that stuff can be that good or happen that quick or people can be that nice I always look for a reason why “they lying” And whilst you are rolling your eyes and wondering why I’m negative many of us are like that.
Many times the main problem we have with setting a goal or envisioning a desired end is the ability to actually “think or imagine it”. We can think of 1000 reasons why that desired end is not valid.
Examples
- You want a house but you can’t imagine it because you don’t even earn enough to score a mortgage.
- You want to get married but you can’t imagine it because you don’t think you look good enough to make someone’s wife/husband.
- You want a job but you heard the market is saturated so you don’t think you’d get your desired job.
This way, you already shortchange yourself before you get the chance to think about these goals .
Listen – “every time you excuse your dreams, you kill those dreams without knowing”
The good news is “the fact that you have it in mind as a desire goes to show that God also wants you to have it”. Because the very first place faith starts to brew is the mind. And we know that God wouldn’t work outside of faith.
Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence (imagination) of things not seen. More good news is no one has to believe you for you to dream and hope and imagine. In fact I’d say imagine so many great stuff that it blows your mind.
This year I have one job and that is to put the evidence of my “dreams and desires” in my mind as a picture, that’s my one job.
I want to encourage you to join me, imagine what you want, have a picture of it in your mind, think about it everyday. It’s free no cost at all so use it.
Now of course there is the part where you have to act on what you believe (imagine) and I’d blog about that in another post. For now, let’s get the first part right.
Dream, Imagine, Hope, Picture it in your mind. Go ahead and hang a picture somewhere you can see it always.
Your mind would wander and those thoughts would begin to challenge your picture but train your mind to stay on the goal by focusing on that physical picture on your wall, phone, wallet somewhere you can always see it.
Here’s a challenge for 21 days called “Mind your 10 minutes” (Start whenever you want, just be consistent for 21 days straight)
- Imagine something so wild that you lol when you think about it
- Get a physical picture that represents that goal (house, marriage, car, job, travel etc) and put it somewhere you’d always see it
- Spend 10 mins everyday looking and think about that dream. Imagine driving that car, imagine you get your dream job, imagine you walking down the aisle, imagine you getting that award.
- Check in. Tick the day off until the end of 21 days
Be intentional, don’t pull dreams out of thin air.
Be purposeful about your dreams
And be prayerful about them too
Do not be afraid to think big
Here’s an example of mine
